Digital safes provide people with an excellent way to secure their cash, jewelry and other valuables from potential burglars. The main advantage digital safes over keyed and combination safes is that the combination can be quickly and easily reprogrammed. This proves incredibly useful in a business environment where employee turnover is an issue. The advantages of a digital safe over keyed safes are obvious in that keys can be lost and keys that are hidden can possibly be found by burglars.
Digital safes will have a keypad that is typically made up of the numbers 0 through 9 in addition to “Enter” key. They will generally have a combination made up of between 4 and 10 digits. Digital safes can be open as long as the combination is known.
Operating a digital safe is a fairly simple affair. In order to open a digital safe, the user must first press the “Enter” key on the digital keyboard of the safe in order to first clear any previously pressed numbers. Pressing the “Enter” key will also indicate to the locking system that a user is about to attempt to enter the combination.
Once the “Enter” key is pressed, the user is ready to enter the combination. The user now enters the numbers of the combination one at a time on the digital keyboard. It is recommended that the user pause briefly between entering each digit of the combination so as to allow the safe’s locking system to process the numbers entered.
When the user is finished entering the combination they then push the “Enter” key. Again, digital safes will generally be made up of between 4 and 10 digits. Pushing the “Enter” key after entering the combination indicates to the system that all of the numbers of the combination have been entered. It is important to note that on some digital keypads their might be an “End” key instead of an “Enter” key upon entering the combination. At any rate, once the combination has been entered and the “Enter” key has been pressed, most digital safes will have a green light that will illuminate that indicates that the correct combination has been inputted and the safe will be open. The user may then turn the bar that opens the safe and pull the safe open.
In the event that the digital keypad of the digital safe does not work, there is no need to panic. The issue is most likely that the batteries must be changed. If this is the case then simply slide the keypad off and replace the batteries.
